The garden: Highlights include the pergola of parabolic arches designed by Gaudí which is placed along the path around the house. There are also a series of elements taken from other projects designed by Gaudí: two railings from the Casa Vicens, one from the Casa Milà; the iron cross from the Finca Miralles; ceramics designed by Jujol for the Park Güell.
The hall: Contains a plinth bearing a bronze bust of Antoni Gaudí. The rest of the hall is just as it was when the house was purchased by the Friends of Gaudí.
Second floor: The room on this floor is known as the Sala Güell – Jujol – Berenguer, named after three key figures in Gaudí’s life. It features exhibits and items associated with them.
Library: the Biblioteca Enric Casanelles is located on the third floor, and specialises in the study of Antoni Gaudí and his era. It has an annex containing a collection of more than 30,000 art catalogues, and 6,000 large-format publications. The documents are available for viewing by appointment only.
Semi-basement: The Batlló dining room leads to the basement via a small staircase. You can see the entrance to the larder where food and drinks were kept and which was the precursor of the refrigerator. On the left, on the last flight of steps, there is a small room which was the old septic tank or earth closet: a necessity when the Park was built because there were no drains or sewers. Today the room is a document archive.
